A playful and delicious Halloween charcuterie board featuring candy corn, sharp cheddar, dark chocolate, and savory elements. Perfect for parties, movie nights, or any spooky gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup candy corn
  • 8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, sliced or cubed
  • 6 oz gouda or smoked gouda, sliced
  • 4 oz dark chocolate squares (70% cacao or higher), broken into pieces
  • 1 cup pretzel sticks or mini pretzels
  • 1 large apple (Granny Smith), sliced thin
  • 1/2 cup roasted almonds or pecans
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries or cherries
  • 20 Halloween-themed crackers
  • 4 oz prosciutto or salami, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup caramel dip or pumpkin butter
  • Fresh rosemary or sage sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare your board: Place your board on a clean, flat surface. If using parchment paper, cut it to size and lay it down. Arrange small bowls in the center or slightly off-center. Fill one bowl with candy corn and another with caramel dip or pumpkin butter.
  2. Place the cheese: Position sharp cheddar and gouda on opposite sides of the board. Slice cheddar into triangles or cubes, leaving some pieces whole. Fan out gouda slices in a slight curve. Let cheese come to room temperature for best flavor.
  3. Add the protein: If using prosciutto or salami, place it near one of the cheeses. Roll prosciutto into loose cylinders or fold into small ribbons. Fold salami into quarters or arrange in a small pile.
  4. Arrange the crackers and pretzels: Group Halloween-shaped crackers in a cluster near the center. Place pretzel sticks in a small bundle, either upright or lying flat.
  5. Add fruits and nuts: Lay apple slices in a fan pattern near the cheddar. Sprinkle dried cranberries or cherries in small gaps. Scatter almonds or pecans in little piles around the board.
  6. Position the chocolate: Break dark chocolate squares into irregular pieces and place them near the gouda.
  7. Final touches: Garnish with fresh rosemary or sage sprigs tucked between elements. Sprinkle a few extra candy corn pieces around the board for a playful look. Step back and fill any obvious gaps with extra pretzels or nuts.
  8. Serve immediately or within an hour. Cheese should remain at room temperature. If the board sits out longer than two hours, refrigerate leftovers promptly.

Notes

For best flavor, let cheese come to room temperature before serving. Toss apple slices in lemon juice to prevent browning. Fresh candy corn should be soft and slightly chewy. The board can be assembled up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerated; let sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before serving.
