A creamy, no-cook overnight oats recipe with peanut butter and chocolate chips that tastes like dessert for breakfast. Perfect for busy mornings with just 5 minutes of prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (any kind)
  • 3 tablespoons (48g) creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2ml) vanilla extract
  • Pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a jar or container, combine 1 cup milk, 3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter, 2 tablespoons maple syrup, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Stir until peanut butter is mostly incorporated.
  2. Add 1 cup rolled oats, 1 tablespoon chia seeds (if using), and a pinch of salt. Stir until evenly combined, scraping the bottom.
  3. Gently fold in 2 tablespoons chocolate chips.
  4. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably 8–12 hours overnight.
  5. In the morning, stir well. If too thick, add a splash of milk. Serve cold or warm (microwave 45 seconds to 1 minute, stirring halfway).
  6. Optional: Top with extra peanut butter, chocolate chips, sliced banana, or flaky salt.

Notes

For best texture, use old-fashioned rolled oats, not quick or steel-cut. Let peanut butter come to room temperature for easier mixing. Taste before refrigerating—it should be slightly sweeter than desired as oats absorb sweetness overnight. Chia seeds are optional but help thicken. Store in fridge up to 5 days; do not freeze.
