A glowing green punch that’s smoky, sweet, and vibrantly neon—perfect for Halloween parties. This easy, crowd-pleasing recipe combines pineapple, lime, and tonic water for an eerie, electric shimmer under a black light.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups (960 ml) pineapple juice (100% juice, not from concentrate)
  • 4 cups (960 ml) lemon-lime soda (e.g., Sprite or 7Up)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) lime juice (fresh-squeezed preferred)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) Blue Curacao (or blue sports drink/syrup for non-alcoholic)
  • 2 cups (480 ml) tonic water (regular, not diet; premium brand like Fever-Tree or Schweppes recommended)
  • 2–3 lime wheels (for garnish)
  • 2 cups green sherbet (optional, for creamy texture)
  • 1 small block dry ice (optional, for fog effect; handle with tongs, never touch)
  • Plastic spiders or gummy worms (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prep your garnishes: Slice 2-3 limes into thin wheels. Set aside. If using plastic spiders or gummy worms, have them ready.
  2. Chill your ingredients (optional but recommended): Chill pineapple juice, lemon-lime soda, and tonic water for at least 2 hours before mixing.
  3. Mix the punch base: In a large pitcher, combine 4 cups pineapple juice, 1/2 cup lime juice, and 1/2 cup Blue Curacao. Stir well until color is uniform.
  4. Add the fizz just before serving: Pour chilled lemon-lime soda and tonic water into the pitcher with the base. Stir gently to combine, preserving carbonation.
  5. Transfer to the punch bowl: Pour mixture into a large punch bowl. If using green sherbet, add scoops now. Arrange lime wheels on top.
  6. Activate the glow: Position a black light (UV light) directly above or behind the punch bowl. Turn off overhead lights to see the glow.
  7. Add dry ice (safety first!): Using tongs, carefully place a small block of dry ice into the punch bowl. Never touch with bare hands. It will create fog for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Garnish and serve: Drop in plastic spiders or gummy worms. Place a ladle in the bowl and let guests serve themselves. Warn about dry ice if used.

Notes

For the strongest glow, use a high-quality tonic water with high quinine content (e.g., Fever-Tree). Test your black light beforehand. Mix the base ahead of time, but add soda and dry ice just before serving. For a non-alcoholic version, replace Blue Curacao with blue sports drink or syrup. Handle dry ice with extreme care—never touch with bare hands or ingest. The punch is best enjoyed within the first hour of mixing.
