A quick and easy weeknight dinner featuring a perfectly portioned turkey breast with a sweet-tart cranberry orange glaze. Ready in under 45 minutes, this recipe is ideal for a cozy date night or a small celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 boneless turkey breast (about 1 to 1.5 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Let the turkey breast sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  2. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, pepper, dried thyme, and garlic powder.
  3. Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the turkey breast for 3-4 minutes on one side until deep golden brown, then flip and sear for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together cranberry sauce, orange juice, orange zest, honey (or maple syrup), and Dijon mustard until smooth.
  5. Pour the glaze over the seared turkey breast, coating the top and sides evenly.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Halfway through, spoon pan juices over the top.
  7. Optional: Add butter on top of the turkey during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the turkey rest in the skillet for 5-10 minutes. The temperature will rise to 165°F (74°C).
  9. Slice the turkey against the grain into thick pieces. Spoon the pan sauce over the top before serving.

Notes

For a thinner glaze, simmer pan juices on the stovetop for 2-3 minutes. If using a larger turkey breast, increase cooking time carefully to avoid burning the glaze. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
