A fruity, fizzy, and slightly boozy frozen margarita float combining frozen strawberries and blueberries with tequila, lime, and sparkling soda for a perfect summer refresher.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries (preferably unsweetened)
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup or honey
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 2 limes)
  • 1/2 cup tequila blanco
  • 1 cup sparkling water or lemon-lime soda
  • Fresh lime wedges (for garnish)
  • Fresh blueberries and sliced strawberries (for topping)
  • Pinch of sea salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1 cup frozen blueberries, 2 tablespoons agave syrup, 1/4 cup fresh lime juice, and 1/2 cup tequila blanco into a high-speed blender.
  2. Blend on high for about 45 seconds until smooth and thick but still slushy. Add a tablespoon of water or more lime juice if too thick.
  3. Taste the berry mixture and add more agave syrup if desired for sweetness.
  4. Divide the blended berry margarita mixture evenly into two large margarita glasses or tumblers, filling about two-thirds full.
  5. Slowly top each glass with 1 cup sparkling water or lemon-lime soda, pouring gently to maintain the float effect.
  6. Garnish with fresh lime wedges, sliced strawberries, and fresh blueberries. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt if desired.
  7. Insert a long spoon or straw and serve immediately.

Notes

Use frozen berries for best texture; if using fresh berries, freeze for 30 minutes before blending. Do not overblend to avoid watery texture. Add soda last and pour slowly to keep bubbles. The berry base can be made ahead and stored in the freezer up to 24 hours. For a non-alcoholic version, omit tequila and add extra sparkling water or lemon-lime soda. Optional salt rim enhances flavor.
