A vibrant, alcohol-free mocktail combining fresh berries, mint, lime juice, and sparkling water for a refreshing and festive 4th of July drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1520 fresh mint leaves, washed and gently bruised
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 1 lime)
  • 1/4 cup simple syrup (homemade or store-bought, adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups chilled sparkling water
  • Ice cubes as needed
  • Optional: fresh blueberries and mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse all berries under cold water, hull and slice the strawberries. Gently wash the mint leaves and pat dry. Set aside a few mint sprigs for garnish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl or pitcher, add the sliced strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and bruised mint leaves. Gently muddle using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to release juices and mint oils without over-mashing.
  3. Pour in 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice and 1/4 cup of simple syrup. Stir gently to combine. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  4. Fill the pitcher about halfway with ice cubes, then slowly pour in 4 cups of chilled sparkling water. Stir carefully to mix without losing fizz.
  5. Serve immediately by pouring the mocktail into glasses filled with ice. Garnish each glass with a few whole berries and a sprig of mint.

Notes

Do not over-muddle the mint to avoid bitterness. Use fresh, ripe berries for best flavor. Pour sparkling water slowly to preserve bubbles. Chill all ingredients beforehand. Adjust sweetness last by tasting before serving. Prepare berry and mint mixture up to 24 hours ahead and add sparkling water and ice just before serving.
